Stel: je bent al jaren fan van reizen, van vrijheid op het water of de geur van dennen in een bos en je overweegt om een boot of vakantiehuis te kopen. Het klinkt als de ultieme droom: een eigen stekkie voor weekends en vakanties, zonder telkens iets te huren of in een druk hotel te zitten. Maar voordat je die stap zet, is het slim om eerst goed na te denken.
Waarom een eigen boot of vakantiehuis aantrekkelijk is
Een eigen boot of vakantiehuis heeft veel aantrekkingskracht: het is jouw eigen plek om tot rust te komen, weg van dagelijkse beslommeringen. Je bepaalt zelf wanneer je gaat, met wie, en hoe lang je blijft. Voor veel reizigers voelt het als een rustpunt.
Tegelijkertijd is bezit geen vanzelfsprekendheid: het brengt verplichtingen en kosten mee die je niet moet onderschatten. Een vakantiehuis of boot is geen hotel of huurwoning. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor onderhoud, stalling, verzekering en alle bijkomende lasten. Wat past beter bij jou: boot of vakantiehuis?
Een boot biedt ultieme flexibiliteit. Je kunt meerdere locaties aandoen, je ‘verplaatst’ je vakantieplek als het ware. Dat is perfect voor mensen die houden van avontuur op het water en zich makkelijk kunnen aanpassen. Tegelijkertijd vraagt een boot intensief onderhoud, en zijn de jaarlijkse kosten vaak hoger dan verwacht. Zeker als je er niet zelf veel aan doet.

[message] => De To Windward met bemanning is gewassen. Het water leek op een kookwas, de centrifuge draaide 1600 toeren per minuut. Windsnelheid die ze gehad hebben lag tegen de 50 knopen. Ze hadden het idee dat ze even in het oog van een orkaan zaten. Maar ik heb bevestigd dat het niet zo was. Iniedergeval was het nog onmogelijk om bijgedraaid te liggen. Het schip wilde alleen nog zeilen. Het schijnt een enorm spektakel te zijn geweest. Ze zijn een paar keer bijna plat gegaan, en het was allesbehalve leuk. Geurende de nacht hebben ze ook trossen over de achtersteven gegooid om de snelheid eruit te halen en de zaak te stabiliseren, zoals ze zeggen. De positie is 35gr. 12 min. N en 35gr. 44min. W. Ze sturen nu koers 110. Snelheid 5 kts. Afstand tot Sta Maria 520 zeemijlen. vanavond is de afstand tot Sta Maria nog 450 mijl ten westen van Santa Maria. 20.45 NL tijd

Achter het front afnemend naar 20 tot 25 kts. uit westen. Zeilend achter het front aan verwchten ze vanaf morgen ongeveer 100 mijl te maken. Het is nog ongeveer 500 mijl.

[message] => Jaja we hebben onze target gehaald afgelopen cruise!! Wij zijn er van overtuigd dat dat komt omdat we 2dagen totaal gesloten waren. Maar omdat onze manager dit besloten had zonder iemand iets te vertellen worden we nu min of meer gestraft. Deze cruise moeten we elke ochtend open van 8 tot 10 voor vieuwing en van 4 tot 11. Dit is natuurlijk super stom omdat van 8 tot 10 iedereen of aan het slapen is of ontbijten is en niemand naar de shops zal komen. Rond 4 uur komt iedereen terug en gaan ze douchen voor dat ze gaan eten. Dit zijn tijden die Holland america ons gegeven heeft want op deze tijden zijn de meeste mensen aanboord. Werkelijk waardeloos we hebben geen idee of dit voor een cruise is of dat het zo zal blijven maar voor mij is het gelukkig nog maar 3 cruisen zo.
Voor de rest vandaag de hele dag op deck 11 gezeten en mijn watch training gedaan. Heeft me in toaal 2.5 uur gekost maar nu is het gelukkig wel helemaal afgerond. Mijn manger hoeft het alleen nog maar te verzenden.
Heeft weer is hier ontzettend lekker ga dit echt wel misen hoor als ik weer terug kom naar Nederland.

Er is een weeromslag gaande op de oceaan. Een actief en diep lagedrukgebied gaat zich ontwikkelen met windsnelheden rond 45 knopen rond de kern en komt dicht langs de positie van 27 mei. Op de kaart staat een lijn met de uitwijkrichting en de meest gunstige schuilplek. Vandaag zijn ze vanaf dat laatste punt op de koers richting Tenerife. Een afstand van 1300 mijl. Dus ruimte genoeg op zee zonder eilanden. Op ongeveer zeshonderd mijl van de huidige positie zit de optimale schuilplaats. Op woensdag 30 mei 1500UTC zouden ze zo ver mogelijk onderweg moeten zijn richting dat punt. Nu zeilen ze koers 105-110> Weg van de Azoren, ruimte op zee. Ze hebben halve wind van stuurboord en hebben een vaart van 6 mijl per uur. Misschien de motor bijzetten om nog wat extra knopen te maken. dat zou 70 extra mijlen kunnen betekenen wat gunstig is voor een rustigere wind. Met de uitwijklkoers op de kaart zou toch 300-350 mijl van richting de ideale uitwijk moeten zijn behaald. Ze gaan die storm meemaken met nog flink veel wind, maar wel behapbaar en op een veilige afstand van de Azoren.

[message] => Vandaag is er een nationale feestdag hier in Bermuda. Net voor het schip is een parade en er is een hardloop wedstrijd. Veel dingen te doen en zien dus vandaag.
Zoals het er nu naar uit ziet kom ik 17 Juni terug en zal ik rond 15 Juli weer vertrekken en zal ik op 22 September in Canada de MS Veendam weer betreden. Het gaat nu echt super snel het ik kan het einde al ruiken. Moet er niet aan denken om mijn koffer in te pakken. Deze Cabin is mijn huis vooral omdat Magda en ik vanaf dag 1 samen hier hebben gewoont. Op Costa ben ik zovaak verhuisd van Cabine en heb ik zoveel kamergenoten gehad. Maar Magda en ik hebben echt een routine samen in de ochtend en we delen alles met elkaar. Ga dat echt wel missen.
Voor de rest deze week niet echt veel gedaan in Bermuda het weer was erg slecht vooral de eerste dag veel regen en bewolking. Ben echter gister wel met een groep naar de film geweest. Het voelt echt als vakantie als we hier zijn hoef totaal niet te werken niets te doen. Volgende week ga ik zeker weer op pad dit was even een relax weekje.
Ben BTW associate of the month!!!! Er is een email rond gegaan langs alle manager op de HAL schepen dat ik werknemer van de maand ben met een grote foto en een foto van onze muur in het kantoor waar mijn foto met de motivatie waarom ik het ben geworden. Heb hier een copi van gekregen van mijn manager echt een leuk aan denken. De laatste zin van mijn manager motitvatie is She is a great person and I feel extremely lucky to have her as part of my team.
Het gaat dus nog steeds uitstekend met me geniet van elke dag nog maar 3 weken :)

[message] => De To Windward met bemanning is gewassen. Het water leek op een kookwas, de centrifuge draaide 1600 toeren per minuut. Windsnelheid die ze gehad hebben lag tegen de 50 knopen. Ze hadden het idee dat ze even in het oog van een orkaan zaten. Maar ik heb bevestigd dat het niet zo was. Iniedergeval was het nog onmogelijk om bijgedraaid te liggen. Het schip wilde alleen nog zeilen. Het schijnt een enorm spektakel te zijn geweest. Ze zijn een paar keer bijna plat gegaan, en het was allesbehalve leuk. Geurende de nacht hebben ze ook trossen over de achtersteven gegooid om de snelheid eruit te halen en de zaak te stabiliseren, zoals ze zeggen. De positie is 35gr. 12 min. N en 35gr. 44min. W. Ze sturen nu koers 110. Snelheid 5 kts. Afstand tot Sta Maria 520 zeemijlen. vanavond is de afstand tot Sta Maria nog 450 mijl ten westen van Santa Maria. 20.45 NL tijd

[message] => Jaja we hebben onze target gehaald afgelopen cruise!! Wij zijn er van overtuigd dat dat komt omdat we 2dagen totaal gesloten waren. Maar omdat onze manager dit besloten had zonder iemand iets te vertellen worden we nu min of meer gestraft. Deze cruise moeten we elke ochtend open van 8 tot 10 voor vieuwing en van 4 tot 11. Dit is natuurlijk super stom omdat van 8 tot 10 iedereen of aan het slapen is of ontbijten is en niemand naar de shops zal komen. Rond 4 uur komt iedereen terug en gaan ze douchen voor dat ze gaan eten. Dit zijn tijden die Holland america ons gegeven heeft want op deze tijden zijn de meeste mensen aanboord. Werkelijk waardeloos we hebben geen idee of dit voor een cruise is of dat het zo zal blijven maar voor mij is het gelukkig nog maar 3 cruisen zo.
Voor de rest vandaag de hele dag op deck 11 gezeten en mijn watch training gedaan. Heeft me in toaal 2.5 uur gekost maar nu is het gelukkig wel helemaal afgerond. Mijn manger hoeft het alleen nog maar te verzenden.

Er is een weeromslag gaande op de oceaan. Een actief en diep lagedrukgebied gaat zich ontwikkelen met windsnelheden rond 45 knopen rond de kern en komt dicht langs de positie van 27 mei. Op de kaart staat een lijn met de uitwijkrichting en de meest gunstige schuilplek. Vandaag zijn ze vanaf dat laatste punt op de koers richting Tenerife. Een afstand van 1300 mijl. Dus ruimte genoeg op zee zonder eilanden. Op ongeveer zeshonderd mijl van de huidige positie zit de optimale schuilplaats. Op woensdag 30 mei 1500UTC zouden ze zo ver mogelijk onderweg moeten zijn richting dat punt. Nu zeilen ze koers 105-110> Weg van de Azoren, ruimte op zee. Ze hebben halve wind van stuurboord en hebben een vaart van 6 mijl per uur. Misschien de motor bijzetten om nog wat extra knopen te maken. dat zou 70 extra mijlen kunnen betekenen wat gunstig is voor een rustigere wind. Met de uitwijklkoers op de kaart zou toch 300-350 mijl van richting de ideale uitwijk moeten zijn behaald. Ze gaan die storm meemaken met nog flink veel wind, maar wel behapbaar en op een veilige afstand van de Azoren.

[message] => Vandaag is er een nationale feestdag hier in Bermuda. Net voor het schip is een parade en er is een hardloop wedstrijd. Veel dingen te doen en zien dus vandaag.
Zoals het er nu naar uit ziet kom ik 17 Juni terug en zal ik rond 15 Juli weer vertrekken en zal ik op 22 September in Canada de MS Veendam weer betreden. Het gaat nu echt super snel het ik kan het einde al ruiken. Moet er niet aan denken om mijn koffer in te pakken. Deze Cabin is mijn huis vooral omdat Magda en ik vanaf dag 1 samen hier hebben gewoont. Op Costa ben ik zovaak verhuisd van Cabine en heb ik zoveel kamergenoten gehad. Maar Magda en ik hebben echt een routine samen in de ochtend en we delen alles met elkaar. Ga dat echt wel missen.
Voor de rest deze week niet echt veel gedaan in Bermuda het weer was erg slecht vooral de eerste dag veel regen en bewolking. Ben echter gister wel met een groep naar de film geweest. Het voelt echt als vakantie als we hier zijn hoef totaal niet te werken niets te doen. Volgende week ga ik zeker weer op pad dit was even een relax weekje.
Ben BTW associate of the month!!!! Er is een email rond gegaan langs alle manager op de HAL schepen dat ik werknemer van de maand ben met een grote foto en een foto van onze muur in het kantoor waar mijn foto met de motivatie waarom ik het ben geworden. Heb hier een copi van gekregen van mijn manager echt een leuk aan denken. De laatste zin van mijn manager motitvatie is She is a great person and I feel extremely lucky to have her as part of my team.
Het gaat dus nog steeds uitstekend met me geniet van elke dag nog maar 3 weken :)

[message] => De To Windward met bemanning is gewassen. Het water leek op een kookwas, de centrifuge draaide 1600 toeren per minuut. Windsnelheid die ze gehad hebben lag tegen de 50 knopen. Ze hadden het idee dat ze even in het oog van een orkaan zaten. Maar ik heb bevestigd dat het niet zo was. Iniedergeval was het nog onmogelijk om bijgedraaid te liggen. Het schip wilde alleen nog zeilen. Het schijnt een enorm spektakel te zijn geweest. Ze zijn een paar keer bijna plat gegaan, en het was allesbehalve leuk. Geurende de nacht hebben ze ook trossen over de achtersteven gegooid om de snelheid eruit te halen en de zaak te stabiliseren, zoals ze zeggen. De positie is 35gr. 12 min. N en 35gr. 44min. W. Ze sturen nu koers 110. Snelheid 5 kts. Afstand tot Sta Maria 520 zeemijlen. vanavond is de afstand tot Sta Maria nog 450 mijl ten westen van Santa Maria. 20.45 NL tijd

[message] => Jaja we hebben onze target gehaald afgelopen cruise!! Wij zijn er van overtuigd dat dat komt omdat we 2dagen totaal gesloten waren. Maar omdat onze manager dit besloten had zonder iemand iets te vertellen worden we nu min of meer gestraft. Deze cruise moeten we elke ochtend open van 8 tot 10 voor vieuwing en van 4 tot 11. Dit is natuurlijk super stom omdat van 8 tot 10 iedereen of aan het slapen is of ontbijten is en niemand naar de shops zal komen. Rond 4 uur komt iedereen terug en gaan ze douchen voor dat ze gaan eten. Dit zijn tijden die Holland america ons gegeven heeft want op deze tijden zijn de meeste mensen aanboord. Werkelijk waardeloos we hebben geen idee of dit voor een cruise is of dat het zo zal blijven maar voor mij is het gelukkig nog maar 3 cruisen zo.
Voor de rest vandaag de hele dag op deck 11 gezeten en mijn watch training gedaan. Heeft me in toaal 2.5 uur gekost maar nu is het gelukkig wel helemaal afgerond. Mijn manger hoeft het alleen nog maar te verzenden.
Heeft weer is hier ontzettend lekker ga dit echt wel misen hoor als ik weer terug kom naar Nederland.

[message] => De To Windward gaat uitwijken. Er komt een diepe depressie aan. Fred en Hans wijken uit naar de positie op de gele lijn met de punaise erin. De koers is 135 gr. Het andere plekje is niet haalbaar vanwege de afstand. Nu zeilen ze halve wind en verwachten ze op tijd op de betere plek van 33.3N en 36.09W aan te komen. Is ongeveer 300 mijl dus dat is haalbaar.

Er is een weeromslag gaande op de oceaan. Een actief en diep lagedrukgebied gaat zich ontwikkelen met windsnelheden rond 45 knopen rond de kern en komt dicht langs de positie van 27 mei. Op de kaart staat een lijn met de uitwijkrichting en de meest gunstige schuilplek. Vandaag zijn ze vanaf dat laatste punt op de koers richting Tenerife. Een afstand van 1300 mijl. Dus ruimte genoeg op zee zonder eilanden. Op ongeveer zeshonderd mijl van de huidige positie zit de optimale schuilplaats. Op woensdag 30 mei 1500UTC zouden ze zo ver mogelijk onderweg moeten zijn richting dat punt. Nu zeilen ze koers 105-110> Weg van de Azoren, ruimte op zee. Ze hebben halve wind van stuurboord en hebben een vaart van 6 mijl per uur. Misschien de motor bijzetten om nog wat extra knopen te maken. dat zou 70 extra mijlen kunnen betekenen wat gunstig is voor een rustigere wind. Met de uitwijklkoers op de kaart zou toch 300-350 mijl van richting de ideale uitwijk moeten zijn behaald. Ze gaan die storm meemaken met nog flink veel wind, maar wel behapbaar en op een veilige afstand van de Azoren.

[message] => Vandaag is er een nationale feestdag hier in Bermuda. Net voor het schip is een parade en er is een hardloop wedstrijd. Veel dingen te doen en zien dus vandaag.
Zoals het er nu naar uit ziet kom ik 17 Juni terug en zal ik rond 15 Juli weer vertrekken en zal ik op 22 September in Canada de MS Veendam weer betreden. Het gaat nu echt super snel het ik kan het einde al ruiken. Moet er niet aan denken om mijn koffer in te pakken. Deze Cabin is mijn huis vooral omdat Magda en ik vanaf dag 1 samen hier hebben gewoont. Op Costa ben ik zovaak verhuisd van Cabine en heb ik zoveel kamergenoten gehad. Maar Magda en ik hebben echt een routine samen in de ochtend en we delen alles met elkaar. Ga dat echt wel missen.
Voor de rest deze week niet echt veel gedaan in Bermuda het weer was erg slecht vooral de eerste dag veel regen en bewolking. Ben echter gister wel met een groep naar de film geweest. Het voelt echt als vakantie als we hier zijn hoef totaal niet te werken niets te doen. Volgende week ga ik zeker weer op pad dit was even een relax weekje.
Ben BTW associate of the month!!!! Er is een email rond gegaan langs alle manager op de HAL schepen dat ik werknemer van de maand ben met een grote foto en een foto van onze muur in het kantoor waar mijn foto met de motivatie waarom ik het ben geworden. Heb hier een copi van gekregen van mijn manager echt een leuk aan denken. De laatste zin van mijn manager motitvatie is She is a great person and I feel extremely lucky to have her as part of my team.
Het gaat dus nog steeds uitstekend met me geniet van elke dag nog maar 3 weken :)
